Part And Parcel Blogshop

Was kindly sponsored 2 items from Part And Parcel, an online clothing store based in Singapore, formed through the love of providing fabulous stuff of exceptional quality at affordable prices.
Here's what i picked:

1. Skater Dress with Scallop Neck in Black

"Featuring scallop neck both at the front and the back. Comes with hidden side zip. Made of thick stretchy knit fabric. No lining. (Please note that the same dress in off white does come with full lining.)"

Here's the white version! :)

It was tough choosing between the two cos both are such timeless classics!
Decided on black in the end as I don't have much black basics :)
Received much compliments for it, lovely!

Wore the piece as a little black dress to Delifrance event.
Here's an ootd shot:

This is a self-manufactured piece by Part And Parcel and the quality is really great!
Cut and fit of the design accentuates a lady's curves pretty well :) I'm pretty much stick-man thin, but this dress managed to make me appear a lil' curvy hee.

What's makes the design even better is the scallop neckline that gives more unique-ness to an otherwise average skater dress! Saves the trouble of accessorizing with a necklace if you're lazy :O Good for lazy OLs like me.

One more shot, hee.
The slight boatneck allows you to show off a bit of your sexy collarbones too ;)

2. Timeless Dark Blue Fit & Flare Dress

"Made of textured stretchy polyester fabric. Fully lined. Hidden side zip closure."

This dress has a slight cinch at the waist and then puffs out after that like a princess dress~

Also, the shade of blue is gorgeous in real life lighting!
My favourite royal blue which can make skin tone appears fairer ;p
Wore it out twice already cos I couldn't resist.

See the blue in real life? <3

The dress already comes with slight detailing at the top, so I only need to pair it with belts for both occasions!

Accompanied my mom to the new mall in the west, JEM one evening.
Was quite tired so I didn't really shop. Ended up just taking photos of my ootd :D

L’Oreal Paris Youth Code Boosting Essence

Was going through many of my skincare products and samples before Genting trip in order to bring along suitable products for the climate! Okay la, I might be exaggerating abit cos Genting isn’t that cold afterall, but the condition there is really dry! Makes my skin and lips peel :O

Combed through tons & tons of skincare before finally deciding on a few suitable ones.

See the amount of travel-size/sample-size products which are left in the box. I have a few basic ones from my fav skincare brand, but still, always on a lookout for newer products that claim to work even better! Sadly, most of them I don’t even use now cos they’re not that effective on my skin, or rather, probably not absorbed by my skin! :(

And that's only 1% in the pic.. I'm too shy to show you the rest of the unused products cos..... too messy le *runs away*

I must have spent easily thousands on them :`( Seriously, #savemywallet please! Should have taken part in nuffnang contest, lol. If you have joined the #savemywallet Instagram contest by Nuffnang & L’Oreal, check if you’re one of the winners here! :)
Winners are the ones who need a rescue from their beauty clutter! :x To save the 10 girls, each of them gets a L’Oreal Youth Code boosting essence + a product hamper worth S$300!

WHY SO GOOD ONE!!
*and again, why didn't i join??*
The L’Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence can help to boost their skin’s absorption power, hence amplifying the performance of all their skincare products so that they can all save their wallets ^^ One drop of  L’Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence is all they need to maximize their skincare regime!

Personally I’ve tried the L’Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence and it’s really very good! Light-weight (very important for oily/combination skin like mine!), and quick penetrating, it is a pre-serum that prepares your skin for subsequent skincare products, hence boosting the effectiveness of any products that goes on after that.

Dug out one of my samples which is still in the queue for review, haha.

See how watery & light it is?

Penetrated into my skin within seconds of spreading it over the area!
Should have taken a video hor :x

Applied it on half my face.
See how my right cheek has a slight glow after using the boosting essence? ^^
(can see my terribly bloated morning face & puffy eyes, sobs)

Here're some shots with makeup after using the pre-serum and my usual brightening serum + moisturizer :)

Personally, I find that the moisturizer gets absorbed more quickly after the L’Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence  The makeup also settles down faster so I didn’t get any ‘streaks’ which I tend to have often becos of morning rush. Always put on my makeup too quickly after the skincare, and the streaks form when I brush powder over my damp face :X But with the L’Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence this time, there is not ‘downtime’! ^^

The pre-serum is only very lightly-scented which is great even for sensitive skin like mine. Fragrant is light as well, doesn’t irritate my nose :)

As mentioned, the L’Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence is a pre-serum that boosts your skin’s absorption power, ensuring that your skin takes in the active ingredients in your subsequent skincare. This way, you can double the effectiveness of your skincare products without tossing out a thing. I think that’s EXTREMELY important to my skin (AND my wallet!) so I can finish and maximize all those half-bottled skincare I have (provided they have not expired heehee)..

When used alone, this product makes your skin smoother and softer from the very first drop. In a week, your skin texture improves and in a month, your skin looks more youthful and rejuvenated and you see more visible results from your skincare.

The great thing is you can use it with any skincare product so you don’t have to toss out your current skincare product! Yay!

As a pre-serum, it should come right after toning (or softener which I use). The recommended skincare regime would be: Cleanse, Tone, Boost (with Youth Code Boosting Essence), Treat (Serum, Essence, Spot Treatment or even Eye products), Moisturize, UV Protection.

You can get the L’Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence from any leading retailers including Watsons, Guardian, SASA, major super/hypermarkets, and selected department stores. Usual RTP is $39.90. From 15th May to 30th June 2013, there’s a 20% off Youth Code at all L’Oréal Paris counters (yippee GSS!).

On a sidenote, I had noticed Rui En as the new spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris Youth Code franchise while watching the TV one evening.
Was telling my mom that wah, she’s a rare gem ambassador cos I seldom see her in commercials!

“Talented, independent and passionate, Rui En is a positive role model for many. She is the quintessential L’Oréal Paris woman, one who embraces diversity and confidence; looking good and feeling good regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or appearance,” says Shermaine Chen, Product Manager at L’Oréal Paris Dermo-Expertise.

With her faith strongly placed in Youth Code, Rui En now joins the prestigious ranks of international celebrities including Gong Li, Li Bing Bing and Fan Bing Bing in celebrating the essential and unique capability of Youth Code.

I use a sheet mask every night when I’m filming, and realized that when I apply Youth Code under it, it makes the treatment much more effective. I see improved glow and moisture immediately after. It is now a must-have in my skincare regime.” -Rui En

That reminds me, to use my sheet masks with the L’Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence!!
*scuttles off!*

La Enchanté Spring Collection

So, it's been almost a year since I've started modelling for La Enchanté.
Though, okay la, blogshop modelling isn't not considered as real modelling in my opinion. But all the same, they require similiar hardwork & efforts behind he scenes (or is it just me who needs hardwork cos i don't know how to model? :( lol)

I've attempted several other modelling jobs or blogshop events before this, and flopped badly for some :/
When it goes onto the blogshop site, I just pray n pray that friends won't realise it's me. I can't bear to even bear to view the finished photos on my own, i wonder how the poor photographer endured through the editting. lol.. But also from those, I've learnt about myself more, and surprisingly, understand myself (physically) even deeper. I always thought we all know ourselves best, but turned out that I didn't really.

This is the longest modelling task I've been through and I'm really glad Chee & I worked it out (rather) smoothly! :D Learnt a thing or two about photoshoots, wearing high heels, stopped slouching so frequently, coordinating outfits etc. Sad to say, some of my friends who model for blogshops could even help to edit the photos after the shoots (they know themselves better than the photographer la) but I know nothing much about editting except mei tu xiu xiu n similar sorts! LOL.

I totally remember the awkward moment (or days actually) it was when I first saw my face on a webpage. Dunno why leh, it's just awkward. Probably lack of the confidence and just very afraid that people will criticise and etc. But thankfully, chee insisted, "ahya, people will focus on the clothing only". Come to think of it now, not sure whether she meant it as sarcasm or console, lol!

Now I'm totally used to seeing many of my faces on the site or fb page.
Like this.

Lol.
It actually doesn't feel like seeing myself anymore. Seriously. I see it as... just another face?
In fact, I'm more focused on the outfits and maybe the hair. Will keep thinking, "oops, never wear the dress properly", "never stand straight to portray the attire", or "oh no, didn't coordinate the outfit to the best they can be", or "wah, why the hair so messy!" :(

The best thing about working with a good friend, you feel so comfortable and at ease even though you might be totally new to the whole event.
In other photoshoot events, there are usually awkward silence (except clicks of the camera) while the photographer is shooting away when I have run out of new poses :/ But with chee, we can sometimes just shoot in comfortable silence. :) Cos ah, you have to understand that it's very tiring to stand in high heels and smile for hours already, so I'm extremely glad we don't have to do small talks like with acquaintances still.. hehe.

I'm also relieved that we are also very understanding of each others' work commitment and schedule. And that we have trust. That way, it makes coordination and many other things easier. I just have one small 'complaint' though - that is I hope that one day when she's able to "reveal" herself and she should totally model the clothings! She's sucha nice smile and slim face (even her own mother agrees haha) la. Whereas, my face keeps getting rounder n rounder :/ arghs

That pretty much sums up my year of modelling for LE.
It's Spring again and La Enchanté's Spring Collection is so yummy!
Visit La Enchanté website now or like the Facebook page for first-hand updates and promotions :)

My favourite from the collection is actually the simplest design of the lot :)
The Camilia skater dress

Camilla skater dress (white)

Camilla skater dress (black)

Love it so much that I got both the white & black!
Wore them out several times already cos it's so easy to match.

Then the royal pleated mini gown.
Wore it for a wedding lunch previously. but i can't find the pic now.. :x

Royal pleated mini gown

Power girl peplum skirt in hot pink!!
And dark topaz for more tone-down or i-want-a-skirt-that-matches-any-tops-so-that-i-can-save-using-my-brains-to-coordinate (what a mouthful) days.
Love both!

Power girl peplum skirt (hot pink)

Power girl peplum skirt (dark topaz)

Last but not least, the Freyde pleated dress which was a huge sell-out in one of the earlier collections!
C has decided to bring in a new shade, navy! :)

Hoshi Japanese Restaurant @ IMM

Had a pre-celebration with M few days back.
Was feeling girlish so I wore La Enchante cayla dress even though it was a work day :p

Here's how it looks in full :)

Cayla crochet collar dress (black) Size S

There's still size S left!

Was craving for sashimi so we went to the nearest Japanese restaurant :)
Ended at Hoshi @ IMM.

Ordered a set dinner meal at $42+ for 2pax.
Very much worth it!
Changed the sashimi platter to all salmon sashimi.

Wings wth salt.

Came with 2 sets of pork cutlet, rice and soup too.
The pork cutlet was crispy yet not oily.
Portion was huge too, I had to takeaway the remaining so as not to waste so much food! :x

And since we were at IMM, went Daiso to stock up on all the snacks and what's not!
My fav snack from Daiso..
Limited edition flavours ;)

Had photoshoot with C the next day.
The shoot was a lil' awkward due to a change in studio area :x
Maybe cos I'm not professional lah hurhur.
But still, can't wait to get the photos from her!

Dreamt of being a star?

Well, you can see that I certainly do! Albeit not necessarily good in them :p

But good news if you happened to have the same interests as me! :D You can now shake, twist & sway your way to Philippines for FREE!

Cebu Pacific (PSE:CEB), the Philippines’ largest national flag carrier, launches the contest:

Search for the Juan Blogger

An online contest for bloggers in Singapore and Malaysia.

Are you the Juan?
“Juan,” in the Filipino language, refers to the everyman, a key market for CEB given its trademark low fares.

This is also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a blogger and his or her companion to explore the Philippines, and to share these adventures to the world through their blogs.

The “CEB Juan Blogger” will have the opportunity to travel to key cities that CEB flies direct to from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur: the bustling Manila metropolis for its shopping indulgences, picture-perfect sunsets in Manila Bay, and exciting nightlife, and Cebu for its enchanting Spanish history, pristine beaches and delectable cuisine.

"Cebu Pacific has always been known for our upbeat flying experience, and young and fun culture. In our search for a blogger ambassador, we want to find someone who embodies that same fun-loving spirit we have. This is why we are very excited to watch the dance entries and see the creativity of bloggers from Singapore and Malaysia,” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Distribution.

For the less fun-loving (just kiddin!!) who are reading this, below are some technical/operational information about Cebu Pacific Air :)

Cebu Pacific Air is the largest carrier in the Philippines air transportation industry, offering its low-cost services to more destinations and routes with higher flight frequency within the Philippines than any other airline.

In its 16th year of operations, CEB had flown over 70 million passengers. It provides access to the most extensive network across the Philippines, with 32 domestic and 21 international destinations, including Beijing, Bali, Osaka, Seoul and Dubai.

CEB currently operates 10 Airbus A319, 24 Airbus A320 and 8 ATR-72 500 aircraft. Its fleet of 42 aircraft is one of the most modern aircraft fleets in the world. Between 2013 and 2021, Cebu Pacific will take delivery of 18 more Airbus A320 and 30 Airbus A321neo aircraft orders. It is slated to begin long-haul services in the 3rd quarter of 2013.

For more information, just visit www.cebupacificair.com :)

For this contest, I’ve done up a little “demo” video for submission too! This might not be good enough for the contest, but it’s just a guide to how easy it can be! :D

Had Y to join me initially for a pair dance :D But we couldn’t find a suitable timing to do it together cos it was the CNY period and we were both busy with visitings and such :/ So had to re-do the original choreography and it ended up abit awkward cos I feel damn paiseh to do it alone :( lol.

Besides choreography, I thought about the costume too.
Other than our pretty SIA uniform, the next image that comes to my mind for this contest’s getup goes something like that:

Yes, the scarf! And the hair bun!

I had thought of digging my old military band uniform (mine's red, totally similar to the red ones above and comes with a matching beret!), but erm, don't wanna make myself sad in case I realise that I can't fit into it anymore :`(

So, I picked a red dress out of my various past CNY clothings LOL...borrowed a scarf, took Lynn's little hat accessory, and a pair of shades (so that I can save the time to do makeup haha) and there you go! My "costume" as follows:

It turned out to be quite retro, which hey, can be a specialty too :D

I chose the safety belt instructions portion of the dance music and immediately thought of the belt I bought for daddy some time back. LOL. Don't mean to imply that I got bad taste in belts.. Buying one that looks like a safety belt :/ But uh..my dad just likes his belts that way!

Poor innocent belt that got kidnapped from my ransack of the wardrobe.

photo5_zpse2548532.jpg

Does look alike what??? :O

The first portion of the dance coincides was choreographed accordingly to the voice of the mp3.
Something about listening to the captain and refer to the cabin crew.
*does gesture for passengers to listen up*
and then waving my hands in the air to get their attention (just in case they can't tell apart the cabin crews from any other possible party animals on the plane :X)
Rest of it with the belt were rather impromptu! hahaha.

I presume that there might be space constraints as the aisle might be quite narrow.
So, the choreography is catered specially to the limited space - mainly movements of the arms and simple swaying/shakes/turning on the spot.

And, here's the dance!
I won't say, "enjoy!" lol.
More like..

Don't vomit! AHAHA.
It's all in the name of fun! :)

You may vote for the video here

Or if you can do better (which I'm sure u can!)
 Join the contest here!
Enjoy & all the best! :D
Vote for my video if you can hahaha.
