Swensen's SG50 menu (Apr-Jun 2015) and Hello Kitty treats!

Having received positive acclaim for the first phase of the SG50 Menu, Swensen’s is proud to present a slew of three new, fresh offerings as the year-long birthday bash proceeds into the second quarter of the year. Patrons can expect innovative, fusion-infused dishes that marry popular favourites with notes of local flair to pay tribute to the nation’s melting pot of flavours.

The three featured dishes running through April 2015 to June 2015 are the widely anticipated SG50 Lobster Roll, delectable BBQ Boneless Chicken, and local favorite Fried Crayfish. Priced affordably, these unique specialties will certainly whet your appetite with its’ divine flavors.
The three entrées are launched successively in the second quarter of the year, and are bound to please any palate intending to relish one-of-a-kind, savoury dishes that pack a punch.
April 2015
SG50 Lobster Roll ($21.80)

The best-selling lobster gets a deliciously local twist! For those who have enjoyed Swensen’s special Boston lobster roll few weeks/months back, you will love this even more!

The dish features a stunning combination of sweet and juicy lobster chunks adorned with luscious, silky homemade chili crab sauce, and nested within a soft buttery grilled bun. A delicate drizzle of fragrant butter oil and fresh spring onions complete the crustacean specialty.
May 2015
BBQ Boneless Chicken ($14.90)

Seemingly normal, this dish actually packs a punch. It is made of chicken marinated overnight with Swensen’s special in-house pineapple BBQ sauce.

The tender boneless chicken is grilled and very lightly charred, allowing the sauce to be deeply infused in to the meat for a bold punch of intense flavor. It is accompanied with a side of buttered potatoes and sautéed vegetables.
June 2015
Fried Crayfish ($15.90)

Our favourite out of the Q2 lot! :)
The crayfish adopts a good old Singaporean classic touch! Relish in succulent crayfish lightly coated with breadcrumbs and fried to golden perfection.

The main course is served alongside a bowl of Swensen’s special Chilli Crab sauce packed with generous chunks of crabmeat and a side of fried mantou – perfect for diners to soak up all the delicious seafood goodness.

Downside is? 3 mantous is definitely not enough!

As mentioned, each dish will only be there for a month, so do check them out while available!

Not just SG50 dishes, we got to try the limited edition hello kitty-themed desserts too! Yumms.
From 1 February to 30 April 2015, fans of Hello Kitty can indulge in a total of four different ice-cream desserts at any Swensen's outlet in Singapore - each available at $12.50.

We had the following:
Hugs and Velvety Kisses
Strawberry, Chocolate and Vanilla ice cream entwined with fluffy Red Velvet Sponge Cake

Merry Berry Kitty
Raspberry Cheese Cake ice cream accompanied by luxurious blueberry topping and fresh strawberries for a tangy finish. A pretty White Chocolate Hello Kitty sits atop rich, fluffy whipped cream to complete the saccharine sundae

My preferred choice of treat out of the two ;)

We also brought home a set of 6 Ciabatta rolls with homemade honey buttercream :)

Swensen's now offers the Ciabatta Tea Set that comes with free flow of coffee/tea during weekdays (excl. eve of and on PH) from 2:30-5pm at all outlets for only $5!

Ending with the refreshing sodas we had during the food tasting.
