The latest shopping/pub hangout in BKK - Asiatique.
One way to get there is by the free ferry shuttle service available at Sathorn Pier, which is right beside Thaksin BTS station.
Hence, we took the free shuttle from Baiyoke Sky to the BTS station.
Love the mcd nescafe coffee float there!
It's like a must-drink for me. Just like xu liu shan in HK. haha..
If you have read about my post on the BTS rabbit card (their version of ezlink card) here,
http://oyhz.blogspot.sg/2012/12/glow-pratunam-bed-supperclub-bkk.html
there're actually point/credit system in the card whenever you travel using it and once accummulated to a certain amount, you can use the points to exchange for vouchers/coupons with this machine :)
Otherwise, an one-way ticket will do :)
A giant coke cover over the construction.
Probably a new coca cola building?
Thing to note: don't wait for the train at either ends of the platform! Cos the train isn't as long as the entire train platform, lol. It'll stop somewhere in the center.
Once you exit the BTS gantry, go towards the left to Exit 2.
First boat comes at 4pm, and last boat back to the Pier is at 11pm.
Not very crowded on a weekend late afternoon.
It's a short 15-20mins boat ride :)
The place is filled with restaurants, eateries and stores of local designers :)
We chose a alfresco steak place for quick dinner so that we have more time to explore and shop at Asiatique!
The chicken wings are super nice man!
So taiwan variety show drama.
Planning shopping strategy/route for the night.
Always can't find the right food for your food?
Get this set and you won't have that problem anymore.
There's a mini train you can take to go round Asiatique for a full view.
There's a foot massage place on the opposite end of the Asiatique entrance.
I believe it's the only massage place there. Should be easy to find.
Price is cheap too. 200B for an hour of foot massage. It is a must after a long day of shopping!
Dunno why the masseur laughing at my leg :/
Chose one of the restaurants that looks great to chill.
Brasserie9 is right by the river and near the ferry alighting area. Easy to find.
Very relaxing and cooling place.
Cocktails are very cheap!
Only 250B, about sgd10!
My tequila sunrise!
♥♥♥
Another restaurant I visited at Asiatique later on and I shall add it in this post! :)
Asiatique The River Front
Another restaurant I visited at Asiatique later on and I shall add it in this post! :)
Capri Restaurant & Bar
Asiatique The River Front
2194 Charoenkrung Road
Bangkok, Thailand 10120
It is located at warehouse 8 of Asiatique, pretty near to where you would alight from the free ferry shuttle.
If the weather is good, I would prefer the outdoor dining area which sets us close to the river. But it was rather warm that evening, so we went indoor.
Capri serves Italian-Thai fusion cuisine.
Yet, the interior of the restaurant was surprisingly more towards Mediterranean décor style, in mainly blue and white reminding us immediately of Santorini, Greece.
We ordered two appetizers and main courses to share.
Here’re our drinks, in mickey mouse formation ;)
Q and L had midori sour.
Mine was the Sakura cocktail special (vodka, midori, fresh orange, cherry soda, syrup and mint leaves).
Totally didn’t expect a cocktail to come in a fishbowl -_-
I ended up only having like 1/10 of it.
Squid calamari with spiral fries
US sea scallops on spinach
Angel hair wasabi cream sauce with shrimp, asparagus with ebiko
They have all kinds of add-ons for the pastas. Prawns, smoked salmon, grilled salmon, veg, etc etc.
So you don’t have to worry about not having anything to your liking. Simply choose a base and add on whichever you would like :)
