Another review of a cafe that is a short distance from home.
OOTD.
d' Good Cafe
The first thing that came to our minds when we saw the signage was, it better be what the name represents! lol.
"We want to offer customers everything good – from a good cup of coffee to good service, food and ambience. If customers are dissatisfied with their coffee, they could request for a change and we would gladly brew a new cup."
Well, for coffee, food and casual cafe ambience, they did it. Though we are not so sure about the service/attitude.

As usual, H took a long time deciding what to have, especially when she was having a sore throat that day.
Hence, I took my time exploring the cafe, studying the decor and of cos, taking some photos.
The service gave slight
Then I thought, "Are we blocking anyone or anything??"
Though, at that timing, there was not a single soul (customers I mean) in sight.
No idea why we were getting side glances, for pondering too long over their extensive menu?
Finally, H decided.
I ordered egg ben as usual, and a latte and for H, Aglio Olio, oh, without chilli since her throat was bad.
The service staff actually gave a puzzled FROWN and repeated "huh, aglio olio without chili?!"
H replied, "yup, no chili please."
The service staff half-rolled her eyes or did her whatever side glance stunt again while keying in the orders. What?!
Doesn't Aglio Olio simply means spaghetti with garlic and olive oil? Why is it so shocking to her that H wanted it without any chili flakes??
Even if a customer requested for something ridiculous (though I strongly think that Aglio Olio without chili anywhere near ridiculous, please), you don't show a face to the customer. At least tell them tactfully like "This dish without chili/sauce/garlic might be taste as good as the original, would you still like it done that way? :)"
Or pretend to ask a non-existence (nasty) chef behind the door/counter/shelves for the order and then inform the customer that it can't be served that way. Then of cos, suggest other dishes or ask if the customer wants to change his/her orders if you can't think of anything logically/intelligent.
The service attitude encountered made us quite turned-off, cos the cafe appeared to be such a warm, pleasant and homely place.
Wasn't in the mood, so not many photos of the place while waiting for our orders.
But, we really like these swings at the side which is a very charming alternative of bay windows concept.
Egg Benedict $13.50
The poached eggs with hollandaise sauce were average, nothing amazing.
One of the eggs were overcooked, so no runny yolk :(
The Aglio Olio was fine, albeit dry.
I prefer the versions that are more "oily" (knowing it is olive oil :p), with more garlic fragrance usually.
Shrimps were moist and firm, generously peppered.
Went visiting the alfresco area on level 3 after dinner.
You can choose to go up via this cool, futuristic-looking elevator..
Or the old school stairway by the windows.
(on the extreme right)
The outdoor dining level gave us a surprise! The whole area looks really romantic (I love it even more than the swing seats now haha!) with hanging flowers and lights blended, like real-life bokeh <3
