Launch of new DBS Multiplier & Opening of Plaza Singapura branch

*credits DBS

On 1st November, in its continued journey to reimagine banking, DBS has launched a lifestyle space for the tech generation where digital banking is complemented by human connection.

Designed with a “cafĂ© and branch” concept, the new lifestyle space at Plaza Singapura features an open layout, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Customers are first welcomed by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee at the entrance of the branch, where Bettr Barista, a social enterprise supported by the DBS Foundation, stands.

Oh, not to forget, enjoy 20% discount when you pay with your DBS/POSB credit card!

The new lifestyle space is designed with the tech generation in mind and also offers them a highly digital experience to meet their banking and lifestyle needs. It features an industry-first VR corner for retirement planning, where customers will be guided on how to go about working towards their retirement lifestyles.

At the branch, customers can perform both cash deposits and withdrawals at the Cash Services Machines – the machines also allow cash withdrawals above their ATM card limit.

Besides the cash machines, banking services are also accessible to customers round-the-clock through Video Teller Machines (VTMs), offering them non-cash banking services such as the issuance or replacement of internet banking tokens or debit cards.

Customers who require help are able to access instant ‘face-to-face’ assistance via live video.

This is definitely something I welcome with joy as I can have 'counter' banking services 24/7! Not only banking services, these VTM enables debit card/i-banking token issuance or replacement FOC as well.

Managed to get a new card issued on the spot!

Don't worry if you have no experience with the VTM. Pepper, the humanoid robot, is also on hand to guide customers on how to use the VTMs.

DBS is also launching TwentyThirty (www.twentyxthirty.com), an online initiative for young adults – a hub that provides quality content that is of relevance to everyday living. TwentyThirty will cover a variety of topics, from getting through adulting milestones and financial literacy, to career advice and everything else that may be important for a balanced life. DBS’ aim is to engage young adults in their 20s and 30s in conversations about larger “life” issues, and embark on a continuous process of providing valuable information that directly addresses their jobs to be done.

DBS will continue to engage the young adult segment with enhanced products and services, activations and partnerships with like-minded brands.

One of the improved products to better cater to the younger working adults is the enhanced DBS Multiplier Account.

I once had a multiplier account when the first-of-its-kind programme was introduced in 2014 to reward customers for consolidating their banking with DBS, with any combination of salary credit, credit card spend, investment dividend or mortgage instalment. However, I recently switched to another bank-and-earn program after some time which is more suitable for my lifestyle.

(Wonder what's up with the rabbits? Well, it is to signify our monies multiplying like bunnies :D)

Now, this new enhance Multiplier program makes it easier for us to qualify for higher interest rates on our account balances, with no minimum salary crediting amount and no minimum credit card spend!

Simply have salaries credited with DBS/POSB and transact in one or more of the following categories: credit card spend, home loan instalment, insurance or investments.

To enjoy higher rates, customers just need to have their total eligible monthly transactions add up to SGD2,000 or more:
Between 1.55% p.a. to 2.08% p.a. if their salary credit and transaction in one category add up to SGD2,000 or more
Between 1.8% p.a. to 3.5% p.a. if their salary credit and transactions in two or more categories add up to SGD2,000 or more

DBS Multiplier Account interest rates

*Total monthly transactions consist of salary crediting and one or more of these categories: credit card spend, home loan instalment, insurance or investments

I've since started my DBS Multiplier account once again! Join me in the enhanced program or check out more information at www.dbs.com.sg/multi.

xoxo :)

Floral Garage Review

The birthday month has flew past so quickly!

Sharing on one of my first birthday gifts at the beginning of the month - a lovely african champagne roses bouquet from Floral Garage.

This is how it looks on the website:

https://floralgaragesg.com/product/r01-african-champagne/

The website allows you to filter for the specific type of blooms you like or is looking for. The first thing I looked at was the Tulip section. Unfortunately, there was only 1 item available under the Tulip category. So I turned to my next favourite, Rose, to search for the white / pink ones. That was when I chanced upon the african champagne roses which is such a beautiful combination of cream and pink seldom seen at the usual commercial floral stores.

Personally, I would like it even better if the fillers are less green - hence I told Floral Garage after deciding on the roses. Of cos, I would leave it to their professional hands still to decide on the combination ultimately. They were very nice to listen to my opinions and ta-dahh, here's how it turned out eventually:

The roses came in perfect shade of champagne and pink tips, with fillers that are in more muted, dusty green :)

The delivery process was fuss-free too. Here are the information they requested at one go.

Your preferred date:
Your preferred time slot (10-2, 2-5, 5-10 on weekdays and sat, 10-2 for sun):
Your contact number:
Your recipient name (skip if there is no recipient!):
Your recipient's contact number (skip if there is no recipient!):
Address:
Special delivery instructions:
Nominate safe place to put flowers:
Your message to be on our complimentary card:

I like how they have a several time slots for delivery and asked for a nominate safe place beforehand in case the recipient is not at home/office when the bouquet arrives!

I got mine safely after work one weekend :)

Otherwise, you may also opt for specific timing delivery for a fee of $30.

Or, you may also self-collect your orders FOC during your selected date and time slot at
756 Upper Serangoon Road #03-34, Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre, Singapore 534626.
Time slots are:
Weekdays: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Saturday: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Sundays and Public Holidays: 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Floral Garage can also do same day delivery too. And, there is no cut-off time for same day delivery!

If you can't decide on the type of flowers, consider their Freestyle Bouquet at only $34.90!
They look so good!

There is also a larger version of the freestyle bouquet, the Premium Freestyle Bouquet for $64.90–$84.90. You can choose the style of the bouquet, and certain level of customization such as having it with wrapper or in a vase, and colours to avoid.

Alternatively, Floral Garage also provides potted plants selection which I've missed when I first checked out the website. This would look so good for my living room!

But for now, I'm happy with my 'self-potted' bouquet :p

BRAND’S® InnerShine® RubyCollagen Review

Experience collagen at its finest with BRAND'S® InnerShine® latest breakthrough innovation - RubySignatureTM formula.

Unlike normal collagen, RubySignature™ formula is created with a unique and precious blend of ingredients derived from natural sources. It contains micro-collagen and one of mother nature’s most powerful antioxidants, astaxanthin (micro-algae extract). Scientifically proven, its anti-oxidant power is 6000 times more powerful than Vitamin C, 800 times more powerful than CoQ10 and 500 times more powerful than Vitamin E.

We all know collagen is necessary to support the skin’s structural foundation to improve firmness and elasticity for youthful and supple skin. Astaxanthin serves as the perfect complement by acting as a natural shield against the collagen-depleting procedure. In containing both micro-collagen and astaxanthin, RubySignature™ formula defies the ageing process by performing a vital triple-action of supplying collagen, protecting against collagen degradation and delivering collagen effectively to skin cells. Designed to complement your topical skincare routine - in 6 weeks, experience skin rejuvenating power with  BRAND’S® InnerShine® RubyCollagen Essence*. Daily consumption will help to ensure that your body is adequately supplied with the essential nutrients for optimal skin support and protection. For optimum efficacy, it is recommended that BRAND’S® InnerShine® RubyCollagen be consumed twice daily to experience the skin age-reversing difference in 6 weeks*.

*Results may vary according to individuals

After my recent beach getaway (more on Instagram @OYHZ), I definitely need new RubyCollagen Essence range by BRAND’S® InnerShine® even more to fight the collagen-depleting rays of the sun.

If I had been reminded earlier, I would have brought with me a few bottles or stripes for the holiday. Still, better late than never! In order to fend of the visual signs of aging, it is necessary to not only replenish lost collagen, but also prevent further collagen degradation in the skin from occurring. Inspired by this insight, BRAND’S® InnerShine® developed RubySignature™, a formulation designed specifically to challenge the existing paradigm in anti-aging skin care.

Both packaging are rather slim and compact for slotting into our ladies bags :) This is how you could simply bring it along for a day trip or for consumption!

If you had read my previous review on the marine collagen here, I personally find that the RubyCollagen Essence suits my palate better with the more tangy taste.  BRAND’S® InnerShine® RubyCollagen Essence is infused with natural pomegranate juice that gives the invigorating and zesty flavour. Being so delicious, it is certainly an added bonus to addressing the needs of aging skin.

I had been drinking BRAND’S® InnerShine® RubyCollagen Essence for the past week and so far my skin has been recovering well from the slight sunburnt on my cheeks. The burnt cheeks didn’t turn patchy or flaky (thankfully!) and the bumps that appeared on my face right after the trip are disappearing fast. This may be the effect of the RubyCollagen Essence, coupled with the hydrating and soothing products I spammed right after I got home. Plus some deep-cleansing and exfoliating masks which I have been more diligently using too.

According to Isabella Tan, Vice President and General Manager of Cerebos Pacific Limited Singapore, Brunei, and Philippines, “The creation of the RubyCollagen Essence range has enabled BRAND’S® InnerShine® to capitalize on an underserved realm within the anti-aging beauty space, addressing women’s needs for a more complete and holistic anti-aging skin care regimen that also nourishes from the inside out.”

There are 2 formats to RubyCollagen:

1. BRAND’S® InnerShine® RubyCollagen Essence (50ml x 12) SGD $62.90

2. BRAND’S® InnerShine® RubyCollagen Essence Strip (15g x 10): SGD $36.00

(AD) BATTLE OF THE KFC WINGS!

Singaporean youths are a trendy and sophisticated bunch. They love keeping up to date with the latest trends and are always in-the-know about everything and anything new under the sun. In recent years, the influence of Japanese and Korean culture and cuisine is getting increasingly prevalent. Many Singaporeans have fallen in love with the rich Japanese culture and exciting Korean pop and fashion trends. Most importantly, we have all fallen for their delicious food offerings!

I'm pretty sure everybody is familiar with KFC in Singapore.
Kentucky Fried Chicken Management Pte Ltd is the leading quick-service restaurant chain in the chicken category in Singapore. KFC is renowned for serving its customers delicious, complete family meals at affordable prices. The first KFC restaurant in Singapore was opened in 1977, and there are now 87 restaurants island-wide. KFC a.m. was introduced in November 2007 and is now served at 68 of its restaurants. The company also provides KFC Delivery as part of its commitment to meet the needs of consumers. There are more than 19,400 KFC restaurants in 120 countries and territories around the world. KFC Corporation is a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, Inc., Louisville, Ky. (NYSE: YUM.)  To find out more about KFC in Singapore, please visit www.kfc.com.sg.

Rising to the occasion, KFC introduces the all-new KFC Wings – Freshly breaded in-store with a special batter, these juicy wings are cooked to crispy perfection and coated in two bold flavours. Choose either the Umadare sauce (a tangy yet savoury Japanese sauce) or the Yang Yeum sauce (a Korean-inspired sweet and spicy sauce) - you’ll definitely find a flavour you simply can’t get enough of!

The KFC Wings is also paired with the new 7Up Lemon Mint, which allows you to enjoy the refreshing flavour of lemon paired with a cool burst of mint. You can now enjoy the KFC Wings in an a la carte set of 4 pcs (choice of 1 flavour) at only $4.90, or go for the Wings Rice Bento Set which comes with 4 pcs Wings (choice of 1 flavour), fragrant chicken rice, a side salad and a regular 7Up Lemon Mint at only $6.90!

After trying out both wings, I picked the Umadare wings (if you had seen my IG)! Finished off 4 Umadare wings and 2 Yang Yeum wings on my own, cos they're simply so yummy. The 2 flavours so good it’s almost impossible to make a choice! Pick a side and be part of KFC’s greatest wing-off today. To pledge your allegiance to your favourite flavour, upload a post on Instagram and hashtag #kfcoishii to support the Umadare flavour or #kfcmashisoyo to support the Yang Yeum flavour.

Hurry down to the nearest KFC now!
Promotion is not available at KFC Sentosa and Singapore Zoo. Please visit www.kfc.com.sg for full details of the promotion.

Tips for Singapore Internship

I'm pretty sure most of the local tertiary students have gone through some form of internships in Singapore, at least once in a lifetime, right? I had been through Singapore internship once personally, during my uni days.
Though mine was a modest, short 2.5-month stint, I thought I should still share some tips on acing in internships :) Ok, I wouldn't say I had excelled in my internship exactly la (though I remember I did score an A for it), but it got me a permanent position one year before my graduation at least! Besides, these tips are adequately simple and may be helpful in other areas in life too!

Set goals
Even if it may be a short internship like mine, set some goals you want to achieve in these few months. You may wanna do it with your supervisor so that he/she can guide you along to set practical and measurable goals. Otherwise, doing it on your own is fine too, especially if it’s a self-sourced internship that doesn’t require you to report back to school, or you’re paiseh or afraid that you may not achieve the goals and don’t want a third-party to know.

Stay open and adaptable
We would all have our own reasons for doing a certain internship with a certain scope at a certain company or location – our ideals. However, we all learnt that ideals may not be realizable more often than not. It is not uncommon for interns to perform work that are out of your expected scope or even get shared by a different department sometimes. Stay open and adapt fast. Unless those additional tasks are overwhelming that it affects your fundamental reason for doing that internship, raise the issue and discuss it with the supervisor.

Set right remuneration expectation
With so many employment portals available online, it’s easy to do a benchmarking of what you’re getting against market rates. However though, keep in mind that the work experience and exposure matters more in an internship than the money. I would stay in an industry or company or position for internship even if I get paid peanuts or only transport allowance because it is an industry/company/position I like or would benefit me in the long run. That is what I believe in personally, otherwise, find a permanent job instead!

Be helpful
After experiencing real work after I’d graduated, I came to realize helpful people are very much appreciated. You may not be the smartest of the lot, but if you could take initiative / some extra effort to help someone out, it will benefit both parties greatly! You learn something new, the other party gets task done more quickly (because 2 brains are better than 1). I guess this applies everywhere in life!

Stay in contact
Well, ideally stay in contact with colleagues and superiors so that they can keep you in the loop when there is an open position after your internship. I got an offer before my internship ended, and got transferred to my requested department. Nonetheless, I still made an effort to stay in contact with my peers and seniors because we have so much shared memories in that few months of joy/struggles. Also, in future, those faces will be the ones you will see daily at work and some may even become your closer friends because they totally understand you in terms of work/career!

Now, that’s all I have for internship Singapore. What’s yours? :)

Search for Part-Time Jobs in Singapore

Hello! Hope everyone is doing fine! Of late, there seems to be a wave of job switch, particularly in two specific circles of friends I know ;) One, due to organization restructuring or economizing in this downturn (how long would oil prices take to recover?). The second group is of the younger ones, relatively fresh-from-school/schooling type who are looking to explore different career opportunities. Nonetheless, the intermission results in them either embarking on a full-fledge lonnnggggg holiday (minority), or doing some leisure work in the meanwhile (majority) - thus our recent chats have been flooded with things like job search, good portals and interview experiences, haha!

To be honest, I didn’t have much part-time experience till date. So, to join in the hype and understand what some of my friends are going through, I started browsing the few known job portals such as jobstreet; jobsdb; monster; and downloading related apps like glassdoor even. Coincidentally, I was also introduced to this site Stroff.com which holds more focus on part time jobs in Singapore.

So, if you're in a similar situation, here's sharing with you 5 interesting or pretty well-paid (during my era, a part-time job pays only like $4-5/hr, now it has doubled!) positions I've found when searching for part time jobs singapore!

1) Brain Trainer

Seriously? If only this was around when I was still studying!

2) Parttime Gamemaster

This is just such a fun job! 'nuff said.

3) Super Social Media Specialist

Get paid to post on social media!

4) 2 -6 Months Contact Bank Admin Assistant x 5 ($7 - $9/hr)

Interested in a permanent banking job in future?
This may be just the right kick start to sussing out the environment!

5) Outdoor Sales Promoter ($10/hr + Comm)

This can earn you almost as much as a fresh grad's average hourly salary~

I think these part time jobs for students are pretty cool, and earns some good pocket money ;)
Do you have any interesting part time job experiences? Share with me! ;)
