If the name reminds you of the British royal family, you must be wondering what popular British food would they serve – Fish & chips? Scones? Shepherd's pie?
I was really thinking along the line lol, pardon my ignorance :/
But as soon as we reached there, we found out that it is in fact a modern European restaurant and bar that serves well, European cuisines.

Smacked right in the middle of the Central Business District (and right beside my previous workplace), getting there was a breeze.

Didn’t get much photos of the surrounding cos we were busying talking and wondering if another friend was going join us.

The bread was definitely freshly-baked (we could smell them as we were seated near to the kitchen! Lol) and served warm.

We had 3-course and ordered different dishes in order to try more creations! :)

Pan-seared bay scallops
With bell pepper coulis, semi-dried tomatoes, black olives and onion salsa.

A restaurant can never go wrong with fresh ingredients :) The scallops were seared to perfection with light seasoning so as not to cover the sweetness of it.

Roasted tomato soup
With horse radish vodka crème frache and vegetable caviar

This was wayyyy too sourish for my liking. The crème did not mix well with the soup either.
On hindsight, the sour-ness might be good for those who don’t have any appetite at all.

Sous-vide Duck Breast
With pumpkin, celery puree, pomegranate and cassis juice.

Unfortunately, I don’t remember the taste of this at all :O
Qian, why you never let me tryyyyy.. :(
Lol.

I had the Braised Australian Grain-fed Beef Cheek
With pearl barley, baby carrot, zucchini and orange sauce.

The beef cheek was melt-in-your-mouth soft. The accompanying pearl barley and baby carrots brought about a contrasting crunch to the dish. Sauce hints just a little of the citrus fruit, but still managed to bring a refreshing taste to the entire dish of meat.

I had the lychee sorbet with fresh raspberries and raspberry-almond financier. Good enough for a sweet after-meal fix. Serving of the sorbet could be a teenie weenie larger though.

Q had the trio of dessert which consists of chocolate and peanut-butter tart, red velvet cake and apple mousse.

We were both quite looking forward to the red velvet cake!
But alas, it was a tad disappointing. It looks so dry & unappetizing that I didn’t really wanted to try it.
Q finds it rather tasteless.

The apple mousse was a “dark horse” in the desserts trio though. It was surprisingly good!
The mousse was dense and silky. Once you put it in the mouth, the intense apple flavour and aroma explodes on the tongue like fireworks.

The Royal Mail serves 2 and 3-course Set Lunches ($35++ and $38++ respectively) from Mondays to Fridays which include delectable selection of what the kitchen has to offer including the quintessence of Classic British cuisine – Prime Roast. Set Dinner is available in 3 and 4 course options ($62++ and $68++ respectively) from Monday to Saturday and features a mix of favourites from the a la carte offering and innovative new creations from the kitchen.
A perfect restaurant for after-work wind-down or romantic dinners in the CBD area :)
