Launch of new DBS Multiplier & Opening of Plaza Singapura branch

*credits DBS

On 1st November, in its continued journey to reimagine banking, DBS has launched a lifestyle space for the tech generation where digital banking is complemented by human connection.

Designed with a “café and branch” concept, the new lifestyle space at Plaza Singapura features an open layout, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Customers are first welcomed by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee at the entrance of the branch, where Bettr Barista, a social enterprise supported by the DBS Foundation, stands.

Oh, not to forget, enjoy 20% discount when you pay with your DBS/POSB credit card!

The new lifestyle space is designed with the tech generation in mind and also offers them a highly digital experience to meet their banking and lifestyle needs. It features an industry-first VR corner for retirement planning, where customers will be guided on how to go about working towards their retirement lifestyles.

At the branch, customers can perform both cash deposits and withdrawals at the Cash Services Machines – the machines also allow cash withdrawals above their ATM card limit.

Besides the cash machines, banking services are also accessible to customers round-the-clock through Video Teller Machines (VTMs), offering them non-cash banking services such as the issuance or replacement of internet banking tokens or debit cards.

Customers who require help are able to access instant ‘face-to-face’ assistance via live video.

This is definitely something I welcome with joy as I can have 'counter' banking services 24/7! Not only banking services, these VTM enables debit card/i-banking token issuance or replacement FOC as well.

Managed to get a new card issued on the spot!

Don't worry if you have no experience with the VTM. Pepper, the humanoid robot, is also on hand to guide customers on how to use the VTMs.

DBS is also launching TwentyThirty (www.twentyxthirty.com), an online initiative for young adults – a hub that provides quality content that is of relevance to everyday living. TwentyThirty will cover a variety of topics, from getting through adulting milestones and financial literacy, to career advice and everything else that may be important for a balanced life. DBS’ aim is to engage young adults in their 20s and 30s in conversations about larger “life” issues, and embark on a continuous process of providing valuable information that directly addresses their jobs to be done.

DBS will continue to engage the young adult segment with enhanced products and services, activations and partnerships with like-minded brands.

One of the improved products to better cater to the younger working adults is the enhanced DBS Multiplier Account.

I once had a multiplier account when the first-of-its-kind programme was introduced in 2014 to reward customers for consolidating their banking with DBS, with any combination of salary credit, credit card spend, investment dividend or mortgage instalment. However, I recently switched to another bank-and-earn program after some time which is more suitable for my lifestyle.

(Wonder what's up with the rabbits? Well, it is to signify our monies multiplying like bunnies :D)

Now, this new enhance Multiplier program makes it easier for us to qualify for higher interest rates on our account balances, with no minimum salary crediting amount and no minimum credit card spend!

Simply have salaries credited with DBS/POSB and transact in one or more of the following categories: credit card spend, home loan instalment, insurance or investments.

To enjoy higher rates, customers just need to have their total eligible monthly transactions add up to SGD2,000 or more:
Between 1.55% p.a. to 2.08% p.a. if their salary credit and transaction in one category add up to SGD2,000 or more
Between 1.8% p.a. to 3.5% p.a. if their salary credit and transactions in two or more categories add up to SGD2,000 or more

DBS Multiplier Account interest rates

*Total monthly transactions consist of salary crediting and one or more of these categories: credit card spend, home loan instalment, insurance or investments

I've since started my DBS Multiplier account once again! Join me in the enhanced program or check out more information at www.dbs.com.sg/multi.

xoxo :)

Floral Garage Review

The birthday month has flew past so quickly!

Sharing on one of my first birthday gifts at the beginning of the month - a lovely african champagne roses bouquet from Floral Garage.

This is how it looks on the website:

https://floralgaragesg.com/product/r01-african-champagne/

The website allows you to filter for the specific type of blooms you like or is looking for. The first thing I looked at was the Tulip section. Unfortunately, there was only 1 item available under the Tulip category. So I turned to my next favourite, Rose, to search for the white / pink ones. That was when I chanced upon the african champagne roses which is such a beautiful combination of cream and pink seldom seen at the usual commercial floral stores.

Personally, I would like it even better if the fillers are less green - hence I told Floral Garage after deciding on the roses. Of cos, I would leave it to their professional hands still to decide on the combination ultimately. They were very nice to listen to my opinions and ta-dahh, here's how it turned out eventually:

The roses came in perfect shade of champagne and pink tips, with fillers that are in more muted, dusty green :)

The delivery process was fuss-free too. Here are the information they requested at one go.

Otherwise, you may also opt for specific timing delivery for a fee of $30.

Or, you may also self-collect your orders FOC during your selected date and time slot at

They look so good!

There is also a larger version of the freestyle bouquet, the Premium Freestyle Bouquet for $64.90–$84.90. You can choose the style of the bouquet, and certain level of customization such as having it with wrapper or in a vase, and colours to avoid.

Alternatively, Floral Garage also provides potted plants selection which I've missed when I first checked out the website. This would look so good for my living room!

But for now, I'm happy with my 'self-potted' bouquet :p

Shhh.. Don’t Tell Mama - Food Tasting

Don't Tell Mama is a bistro that takes up residence at Tanjong Pagar, offering Korean-Mexican fusion. It is under the same group as Chicken Up, hence located side-by-side.

The industrial looking interior concept allows guests not to worry about dresscode – simply let our hair down and have fun!

The colorful drinks caught my attention immediately. What’s more with blinking mini-lightbulbs for the cocktails, enough to make most girls’ hearts go thumping with delight.

To begin with, we had a few Frozen Cocktails $25:

Left to Right:
Parcharita (Passionfruit, Mango and Tequila)
Lycherita (Lychee and Tequila)
Strawberrita (Strawberry and Tequila)

My favourite will always be lychee flavoured drinks, so Lycherita wins hands-down! The Parcharita was also good, with the tangy passionfruit and mango combi. We were able to control the amount of alcohol added to the Sojuritas, hence these drinks are suited for people of all ‘alcoholic’ levels.

Lightbulb Drinks (Soda $5; Juice or Smoothies from $6; Cocktails From $15)

As we already have quite a lot of alcoholic drinks from the Frozen cocktails / Sojuritas, we decided to simply get the soda version for the Lightbulb drinks. Even though I usually avoid blue-colored drinks, the blue lemon soda was very refreshing and nothing like ‘cough syrup’ as I would usually expect blue-colored drinks to be :p The strawberry soda was great too. I guess this makes a perfect first-date drink, guys ;)

Now, let’s take a look at the fusion menu they offer.

Nachos Cheese Omelette Pancake $8

A fushion of two of my favourite starters - nachos cheese and korean pancake, whoo!
The pancake is the soft, chewy type without any crispy edge or surface. However, pairing with the nachos gives it the 'crisp' texture immediately!

Kimchi Fries $18

Well, what can go wrong with fries? Nothing! The kimchi sauce was well-flavoured and topped with real sautéed kimchi and soy-seasoned shredded chicken. This goes right after my American-style beef chili-cheese fries in my ‘Favorites’ list :p

Bulgogi Quesadilla $14

Not sure if it was the beef, but I love this starter dish! It would make a good main course for one pax if you’re there for ‘proper’ dinner instead of a mass drinking session.

Prawn Burrito $12

This doesn’t seem like a typical burrito, but more towards prawn pizza wrap (if there’s such a thing). The taste of the spices was quite strong, probably good to go with beers or other alcoholic drinks.

Spicy Lollipops $8

These lollipops have nothing to do with sweetness in actual fact. They are chicken drumlets coated with Korean sweet-spicy sauce with some of the meat carved out to shape them like lollipops. The meat is tender and flavorful, easily making it one of our top favourites that evening.

Fried Chicken Wings $8

The wings are very crispy on the outside and the meat has just the right taste. Perfect for a chicken-and-beer chillax night.

Onion Bomb $12

This is the second time I’m trying an onion bomb and this at DTMM certainly makes me feel like going for my third and fourth time! It is incredibly good that even non-onion eaters enjoyed it.

***

Drop by Don't Tell Mama Facebook page for updates of their latest promotions and events.

For now, the whole of February, go bottomless with the beers and margaritas at DTMM for only $30 for the ladies / $40 for the gents from 7pm-10pm!

Alternatively, grab a beer for only $1!

Spread the love :)

Bioderma Sensibo H2O review

When it comes to micellar waters, Bioderma Sensibio H2O is the ONE. The world’s first non-rinse cleansing solution using Micelle Technology, this derma-cosmetic hit was launched in 1995, and has been recommended by dermatologists, adored by makeup artists and loved by millions of people around the world since. Today, one bottle of Sensibio H2O is sold worldwide every three seconds – a fact testament to the extraordinary staying power of a cult hit that remains the cleanser of choice even as mass brands rush to jump on the bandwagon, hoping to emulate the success of the world’s first micellar water.

I used to be a faithful user of the makeup remover from a Japanese brand until I was introduced to Bioderma Sensibio H2O about 2 years back. Sensibio H2O works as efficiently as my then-favourite Jap brand makeup remover, and in addition, leaves my skin softer and more comfortable due to its unique restorative properties. It is also soap-, alcohol- and fragrance-free, plus non-rinsing, which is a great bonus for a lazy girl like me. In addition, Sensibio H2O is formulated with highly purified water – water that is completely free of impurities and irritants for pharmaceutical use. As the base ingredient, the superior grade of water used makes this cleanser ultra-gentle and a clear winner for sensitive skin.

Now, Bioderma is introducing two new additions to its Sensibio suite.

The Sensibio Gel Moussant is a gentle foaming gel with lipid-restoring properties that hydrates and calms sensitive skin. I like how it feels like water on skin, see!

The packaging has a convenient pump function that can be locked so that it doesn't get messy when we bring it along while travelling or to the gym. Simply twist the cap to the right to close the pump, and twist to the left to open it.

The next addition is the Sensibio Dermatological Water: a face and body soothing spray made of highly purified water enhanced with an ideal balance of minerals that calms skin while maintaining healthy skin cells.

How it appears on skin: I like to spray a little on my arms and legs as well to cool the skin while I'm outdoors in the sun :)

All products in the Sensibio suite are available at Watsons, Guardian, Unity, Robinsons, Tan Tock
Seng Hospital and National Skin Centre. The general retail prices are as follows:
Sensibio H2O 250ml $28.90
Sensibio Gel Moussant 200ml $33.90
Sensibio Dermatological Water 125ml $5.90

You may find out more about Bioderma products at www.bioderma.sg.
